MIBOR invests grant funds in Central Indiana

New Ross, Friends of Sugar Creek are local recipients

Realtors not only play a critical role in the process of buying and selling homes, but are committed to helping make communities better places to live, work, play and invest. 

Each year, MIBOR’s Economic and Community Development Council reviews and approves dozens of grants for local projects throughout Central Indiana. The council supports organizations and initiatives aimed at job attraction/retention and expansion, workforce development, placemaking, quality of life, affordable housing, tourism and regional collaboration.

Earlier this month, MIBOR’s ECDC completed round two of the grant program by investing $76,734 into 19 projects. Combined with round one, the council has invested a total of $116,734 into 35 projects throughout Central Indiana so far this year.

The investments from round two included community infrastructure and enhancement projects, cultural and recreational initiatives, and community development support.

• Friends of Garfield Park, Fountains campaign

• Indianapolis Cultural Trail, welcome center

• Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, 3rd Annual Jubilee Awards

• Town of New Ross, Beautify New Ross 

• Hamilton County Tourism, White Riverway Hammock Connections 

• Friends of the White River, general program support • Monrovia Parks and Recreation, completion of park entrance

• Friends of Sugar Creek, MOCO Adopt a Storm Drain 

• Shelbyville Parks, Music in the Park 2025

• Greenwood Parks and Recreation, Oktoberfest - free fall concert series

• Shelby County Development Corp, new website 

• Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, 2024 Project GreenSpace 

• Invest Hamilton County, childcare action and investment plan 

• Boys & Girls Club of Morgan County, feasibility study  • Zionsville Cultural District, Barnes Building Mural

• Morgantown Parks and Recreation, Morgantown Town Park Walking Path 

• Friends of Troop 27 Indianapolis, soccer shed
