LINDEN — North’s golf team is already three matches into the season, but the outlook for the Chargers is highly optimistic.

With a trio of seniors, and a couple of younger players entering the picture, Chargers coach Bob Ryker is looking forward to the season.

“We are in a good spot for the season with our young golfers and our returning golfers,” Ryker said. “The ladies have been putting in a lot of work throughout the summer and they are as excited as I am for the season to begin!”

The seniors will lead the way.

“We’re incredibly proud of our senior leaders — Krestyn Bradford, Kayla Sankey, and Emma Pyle — as they head into their final golf season at North Montgomery,” Rkyer said of the trio. “Their leadership, experience, and passion for the game will undoubtedly inspire their teammates and elevate the team’s performance. We are hoping they lead us to a memorable and successful season.”

The coach is also looking forward to a freshman bringing her talents to the team.

“I am excited to see freshman Marlee Reed step onto the golf course this season,” Ryker said. “With her impressive skills and enthusiastic spirit, she’s sure to bring a fresh dynamic to the North Montgomery High School team. I am looking forward to watching her grow and make an impact as she navigates her first high school season

Ryker is also looking forward to a sophomore making an impact.

“Mallory Inskeep is poised for a standout season,” he said. “Her experience and growth will be crucial as she helps lead the team to new heights.”

The Chargers got their season started early with a solid showing at Danville on Aug. 6, and they had matches on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The are at the Southmont Invite later this month. The County meet is Sept. 18 and sectionals are Sept. 21

“My goal is the same every year for the team,” Ryker said. “Improve every practice, every match, and every tournament.
