Board OK street closure requests

Members of the Crawfordsville Board of Public Works & Safety handled several street closure requests Wednesday.

The board approved a request from Barb Wilson, Music on Grant, to close Pike Street at Pike Place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 29 and Sept. 28 for music recitals.

The board gave Hannah Thompson, Maxine’s on Green, approval to close Green Street from the alley to Main Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 22. The restaurant is hosting a Drag Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The board approved a request from Jessica Harris, Shop Small Shop Handmade, to close Green Street from Main Street to Market Street from 2-11 p.m. July 20 for a fundraising event.

John Swick was given approval to close Parke Avenue at the four-way stop at Hose Elementary to Fairground Avenue from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13 for a car show.

Chris Moore, from the city stormwater department, was given the approval to close the 200 block of South Grace from Wabash Avenue to Main Street on Tuesday, weather permitting, to repair a culvert.

The board also approved a work order request from Barry Lewis, Code Enforcement Officer, for 407 Greenacres Drive, owned by AAJJ LLC.
