Board approves street closures, work orders

On Wednesday, the Crawfordsville Board of Public Works & Safety approved a request from Price Excavating to close Lincoln Street for a sewer line installation.

A local developer has constructed two homes in that area that need hooked onto the city sewer system. The work is slated for today, weather permitting, and is expected to last one day. Homeowners in the affected area have been notified by the contractor.

In other business, the board:

• Approved a request from Hive Reality to close Pike Street at Pike Place from 2-10 p.m. Saturday to conduct its third annual home show. The event, which runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. that day, will include vendors and live music. The original date was rained out.

• Approved a change order request in the amount $18,109 to add parking bumpers and handicap accessible spots to the Milligan Park Parking Lot project.

• Approved work order requests for city crews to mow at the following properties: 1506 E. College St., owned by Sarah Schaaf; 205 Dry Branch Drive, owned by GKC Indiana Theatres Inc.; 403 E. College St., owned by Dorothy Hockersmith; 108 W. Franklin St., owned by Stephanie Poole; 1000 E. Market St., owned by GS Investment Property Inc.; 309 N. Washington St., owned by ARC Cafeusa001 C/O Vereit; and 100 W. Spring St., owned by Charles Homsher.
