SWAT helps arrest Ladoga man

A Ladoga man was arrested Wednesday with the assistance of the Montgomery County Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team.

Police activated the SWAT Team around 9 a.m. Wednesday in order to serve a high risk felony arrest warrant at a home in the 7000 block of East C.R. 1100S for Gerald D. Hardwick.

Before officers arrived, the 40-year-old Hardwick left in a vehicle. The Ladoga Town Marshal and deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop Hardwick and a brief pursuit ensued. The vehicle was stopped and Hardwick was taken into custody without further incident.

Hardwick was transported to the Montgomery County on outstanding warrants for strangulation, domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and criminal confinement with bodily injury as well as a charge of resisting law enforcment.
