Franciscan ACO and Franciscan Community Education are hosting a community “Lunch and Learn.” The event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in Bonzel Hall at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville, located at 1710 Lafayette Road, Crawfordsville. Lunch will be provided at the meeting.

This event is free, but registration is required and can be made by calling Franciscan Health Crawfordsville administration at 765-364-3105.

The topic for the event is diabetes prevention. Approximately 9.4 percent of Americans (30.3 million people) have diabetes. That number is higher in Indiana, with 13.7 percent of our population having diabetes and 35.6 percent of the adult population having prediabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. Join us as we hear from Cindy Cosenza, RD, CDE, diabetes educator with Franciscan Healthy Living Center, who will be discussing methods for preventing diabetes, as well as the cause and effects of diabetes.
