James A. Servies, 75, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at Indiana University Arnett.
He was born Nov. 16, 1948, at Crawfordsville, to the late John E. and Rosemary (Potts) Servies.
Jim graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1967 and then went on to attend Ball State University, where he graduated in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in business.
Jim married Virginia Powers on Dec. 18, 1971.
Jim was an active member at the Vanity Theater and Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church. He worked at Stetler Chevrolet as a finance manager and owned his own business Decor One Paint and Wallpaper Store.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife of 52 years; his brother, Bill (Lorie) Servies; nieces, Morgan (Jared) Smith and Lindsy (Jonathan) Green; nephews, David and Kristopher Servies; great-nieces, Ava Smith and Oliva Green; and great-nephew Lincoln Green.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Servies.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., on Sunday, Sept. 22 from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. Pastor Keith Strain will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Jim’s name to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
