IHS offers historical scavenger hunt

INDIANAPOLIS — It’s time to brush up your detective skills. The Indiana Historical Society is planning a biking scavenger hunt with a historical twist. On June 28, IHS is teaming up with IndyCog to host Ride and Seek: Cycling Through Indianapolis History. The pedals will start turning at 5:30 p.m., outside the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center.

For four hours, teams will roam downtown Indy’s bike-friendly byways, solving clues and snapping photos. Each photograph will help participants earn points toward a final tally and awesome prizes. Extra points will be given out for best team name, best-decorated bike and best-dressed team.

Participation costs $30 per team (up to four people), $25 for teams with an IHS or IndyCog member. Participants must provide their own bicycles.

Registration includes four drink tickets and the chance to win prizes, provided by Southern Wine and Spirits and Payless Liquors.

Ride and Seek: Cycling Through Indianapolis History is presented by Franciscan St. Francis Health. For more information about this event or other IHS programs, call 317-232-1882 or visit IHS online at www.indianahistory.org.
