MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) _ First Merchants Corp. (FRME) on Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings of $36.2 million.
The Muncie, Indiana-based bank said it had earnings of 67 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 64 cents per share.
The bank posted revenue of $132.4 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $119.1 million, also topping Street forecasts.
First Merchants shares have decreased 36% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 33% in the last 12 months.
