Donald “Don” Paul Roth, 88, of Greenville, South Carolina, entered eternal rest Sept. 17, 2024.

Don was born April 27, 1936, at Crawfordsville, to Harold A. and Madeline Elizabeth Roth. He graduated from Greencastle High School, Greencastle, and Indiana University School of Business, Bloomington, Indiana in 1958. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Don married Sandra (Sandy) Kay Dellekamp on Oct. 12, 1958, at Crawfordsville. He was the proud father of six children, Bill (Amy), David (Antoinette), John (deceased), Donna (Russ) Nielsen, Debbie and Ann. He is also the proud grandfather of six and the great-grandfather of two.

Don began his career with Block’s Department Store in Indianapolis. He later joined Dellekamp’s Department Store, Crawfordsville, before joining Hi-Tek Lighting, Crawfordsville, in 1972, where he became director of purchasing. He was transferred to Lithonia Lighting’s corporate offices in Conyers, Georgia in 1998. He retired from Lithonia in 2001.

Don was also an active member of many church and civic groups. Upon retirement he moved to Keowee Key in Salem, South Carolina, where he thoroughly enjoyed retirement life. He moved to Rolling Green Village in Greenville, South Carolina in 2020.

Don served in the US Army at Fort Lee, Virginia and the US Army Active Reserve for seven years. He retired with the rank of Captain.

Don is survived by his wife, Sandy, and five children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son John.

A mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2252 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
