Dividing perennials class set for Tuesday

Posted

The Master Gardeners of Montgomery County are gearing up for the annual Fall Plant Exchange from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. If you have never attended, it is worth checking out. It is my favorite Master Gardener event. It is a free event, you can bring plant clippings, extra bulbs and plants that you don’t have space for and more. Many people come in empty-handed and leave with an armful of plants, and vice versa.

In preparation of the Fall Plant Exchange, Purdue Extension is hosting a “How to Divide Perennials” class and demonstration. Attendees of the class will leave with the information to confidently dig and separate perennial plants, make divisions, and replant them. You can offload any surplus divisions to share at the Plant Exchange.

How to Divide Perennials will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Exhibit Hall at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 400 Parke Ave.
